Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights: Hart Security
World Monitors Inc. was hired by Hart Security to provide human rights consulting services. A principal objective of WMI services will be to assist Hart in being recognized as subscribing to the letter and spirit of the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights and as a leader among providers of private security services in creating a standard of operating practices consistent with the aims of the Voluntary Principles.
Community Driven Development: The World Bank
World Monitors has been retained by the World Bank to prepare a policy paper on areas of convergence and opportunity for leverage of corporate investment in community driven development (CDD) programs. The study commissioned by the Bank's Social Development Department will include an analysis of the interface between CSR programs oriented towards community and local economic development, and CDD operations with tested engagement with the corporate sector. The paper will address scaling up and sustainability concerns of CDD programs and explore opportunities and incentives to leverage innovative additional financial and technical resources through private sector engagement. It will assess good practice mechanisms and examine the associated benefits and risks. Recommendations will suggest improved partnership action plans by which the Bank and other stakeholders can pursue in collaboration with private sector partners in CDD programs.
Assurance for Corporate Sustainability Reporting: Newmont Mining
For three consecutive years World Monitors has been engaged to conduct the Assurance for Newmont Mining Corporation's corporate sustainability report, Now & Beyond. The scope of the Assurance includes assurance of the report in reference to Accountability's AA1000 Assurance Standard and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), as well as industry standards such as the International Council on Mining and Minerals. WMI provides Newmont with an Assurance Statement to be published in the Now & Beyond report, and, in addition, an extensive internal report detailing observations and findings, and opportunities for improvement. Our methodology includes extensive interviews with a wide range of the company's stakeholders, as well as visits to the operating sites.
Stakeholder Engagement-Corporate Sustainability Reporting: Newmont Mining
WMI has been commissioned to design and implement an independent stakeholder review of Newmont Mining's corporate sustainability report, Now & Beyond. WMI gathers and synthesizes the views concerns of stakeholders through confidential one-to-one interviews with subject matter experts and key stakeholders. The report provides invaluable feedback on the report and specifies the company's opportunities for improvement.
